The Monsters Within

I was eleven when Valhalla, the President of the Nyght Nymphs, rescued me from an attacker. She saved me that day and didn’t hesitate to bring me home and raise me as her daughter.
Only one problem. She already had a daughter.
Raised in the Nyght Nymphs, I follow Val and the others in their quest to save those who can’t save themselves. We’re watchers in the night, ready to answer anyone’s call for help.
When Val asks me to drop everything and watch over her granddaughter, what else could I say? I would do anything for Val. Even push down my own feelings of jealousy and fear so she and the other Nyght Nymphs could do what they needed to do to help others.
But I can only push my feelings down so far, before the monsters within me rear their ugly head.

Everyone knows me as Kytten, the cute little Nyght Nymph with pink hair.
Except him.
He sees the real me.
The me I’ve tried to keep hidden from everyone.
The closer he gets, the more scared I become he will learn my secret.
But it’s hard to push him away when he keeps my monsters at bay.
When my secret begins to unravel, the monsters demand control.
But feeding them comes at a price. A price I no longer want to pay.
My only hope now is that just maybe, he’s strong enough to stand beside me and help me slay the monsters within me.
